On Saturday, May 19, the city invites you to the annual Volunteer Fire Service Day (MVD). Volunteers spend time painting and dyeing projects, sprinkling wood chips and raking pine needles. Those who enjoy getting active in the cold winter weather have organised a new outdoor tournament at Mt Pleasant.

Local companies have set up their stands on the fairground so that visitors can travel from stand to stand without leaving their vehicles behind. A pleasant way to enjoy the natural splendor of Mount Pleasant is to rent a canoe, kayak or subway and take a trip down the Chippewa River. The Chippy River offers some of the finest views of any river in Michigan, and canoeing makes for a pleasant, slow afternoon. There are also geocaches on the river, as well as a variety of other wildlife, such as ducks and geckos.

If you can't wait to celebrate Halloween until August 31, visit Mount Pleasant's annual Halloween Scramble on the Chippewa River. Join the scramble and hop on your way, or get out and join in the scramble yourself. Joining the scuffle and jumping off the road is a great way to stop and celebrate a night of fun with friends and family.

As special guests, the ringmaster of the Big Top, Joel Tacey, will show an amazing juggling act on stilts.

Participation is limited to 50 or less for health reasons, and parishioners are encouraged to attend. Mount Pleasant Assisted Living Center, 5785 E. Broadway Rd., will host an outdoor Halloween parade from 6: 30 p.m. to 8 p.m., which will run from the parking lot of Mt. Pleasant Assisted Living Center to the intersection of Broadway and St. Clair Rd.

During the game, which will also take place in the parking lot of the high school, sausages and refreshments will be served. On 29 and 30 September, several shops in the city centre will offer their customers free parking for their cars at the community centre. Owners and admirers of classic cars can enjoy the classic car show in the town hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Island Park Arts Pavilion project has been in the works for four years, and the permanent exhibition and a series of temporary exhibits showcase the work of local artists and artists from around the world and the local community.

PIXIE will donate all net proceeds to the Mount Pleasant Community Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit. The city is offering 30 minutes of free brush chopping to 150 households within the city limits during the week of April 23, and 23 households outside the city limits will receive 30 hours of free brush chopping on April 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 30. Every first Saturday in April, the park hosts a free one-day outdoor drawing competition from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
