Aims at Howe Hall Elementary School Reviews

I have been teaching at this school since it began seven years ago. This is the best school I have ever worked in. The students, parents, administration and students care about their success. Each minute of every day is spent trying the find the true potential in every child.

My son is a second grader at AIMS. I do not have words for the change that has happened in him since starting at the school last year. They really go above and beyond to give these kids a sense of self-worth and self-confidence that will last them a lifetime. My son has learned so much about different religions, races, and beliefs and how to respect everyone as an individual. The Arts aspect is something you will not find anywhere else and the Winter and Spring shows are something you'd expect to see on Broadway. I can't say enough about the school or the people that run it.

My daughter is a first grader at Howe Hall this year and she just loves it! Last year she was in K-5 at another school, and I cannot tell you the difference this new school has made. She has so much more confidence with her work now, and the smaller school environment works for us perfectly! Her teacher is a joy, as is everyone I have come into contact with. Thanks to the staff and administration for making such a great environment for our kids! -Deanna Nussman, Evie's mom

I am a grandparent of two boys who attend Howe Hall Aims. The oldest attended last year and the youngest just started at the beginning of this school year. I can not believe the difference already in the motivation of the youngest. It is a night and day difference from the school he attended the other years. This school is on top of what it means to reach all children helping them to discover their gifts and use them! hurray for Howe Hall!

I am a teacher at AIMS and there is no better place to work! I love coming to school everyday. We have the best parents, students, faculty and staff. Teaching through the arts is exciting, fun, and the proof of our success is in the data! Keep up the hard work Howe Hall family!

My daughter has attended Howe Hall AIMS since it began 6 years ago. The old building does not make up the school, it is the programs that are offered as well as the fantastic faculty, staff and leadership. This was her last year there, and she will be going to continue the program at Marrington Middle School. Without the foundation of education that she acquired at HH AIMS, she would not be as successful in academics and the arts as she is now. I cannot wait for my son to start attending the school in the near future. Both administrations were supportive of the students and parents as well as the community. I am really pleased with Howe Hall AIMS and I hope the concept of Arts Infusion continues. To the HH AIMS faculty and staff: you have done a wonderful job in educating my daughter, and I thank you.

My child is at the end of her first year at HHA and it has been such a joy to see her blossom. She is very confidant and is self motivated to learn to read and write. She is blessed to have been a part of the great foundation that the school and teachers have provided. Of course, what is taught in school needs to be nurtured at home and it is ashame that some parents rely solely on the teachers as being the main influence in their learning. The exposure to culture, arts and music is very important when teaching children how to be well rounded and I look forward to the next couple of years of her learning.

I have had two children go through this school, and infusing the arts with the curriculum has done wonders with teaching the kids how to think on different levels. Each teacher there encourages the students to reach for the stars, not just pushes them to make better grades. The kids push THEMSELVES. It's amazing. My friend's kids are in the same grade as mine and go to a local private school, and my kids are ahead of them in every subject, and their test scores are higher!

The teachers and administration are exceptional at Howe Hall. Commitment is 100% and it's amazing to see how well the children flourish academically with so much artistic stimulation!

Now that Howe Hall is the Arts Infused Magnet School it is much better than almost any other elementary school around. My daughter is learning art, dance, drama, spanish, and computers. Not to mention she is learning music from the Berkeley County Teacher of the Year! The parent involvment within this school is extraordinary and the teachers are top notch!

My son attends Howe Hall. The building is very old, but the program (Art Infused Magnet School) is rather new. I'm happy that all children have a chance to participate in performances and art infusion. The children are provided with many programs that other public schools in the area cannot give their students. I see it as a work in progress! Keep up the good work!

I was not impressed with this school at all. I have had several children go through this school and there is just nothing to grab my attention. This school itself is rundown and sometimes you think that maybe the staff is too. They say we want parents, but it just did not feel welcoming to me. There are a handful of teachers that make a difference. I am encouraged though with the moving into the new school that was built to replace Howe Hall (Goose Creek Primary). The teachers as well as all the staff seem to have a new outlook and are excited about teaching and what they could do for the children. It feels very welcoming and open for visitation by the parents. So with the new school year('03-'04)and new building, the teachers, staff, children, and parents seem to have a happy and encouraging outlook on things. I guess the change of where you teach makes a huge difference in how you teach. Things are looking up for these children and that is a great feeling.
