Hanahan High School Reviews

I like Hanahan High Alot. My whole family has graduated from there. It use to be alot different, how the school looked how techers were and how students were. When i look at the school now it's still good but not as good, the teachers act like they don't care, you can ask them a question 1 time there fine 2 or 3 ok but 4 or 5 they get mad. And then i say i'm sorry i just don't understand and they look at me like i'm dumb so then i feel stupied, when actually they should cause that's there job. I had two reasons for dropping out of school last year and this was the second one!!

I want to say that Hanahan High School is a great school. The interaction of student, faculty, staff, and parents are great. The parents support the school in all that it does. The faculty has a great concern of the students achievments. Thanks to all the hard working teachers at Hanahan, all the hard working staff at Hanahan, all the parents that made sure their children understood the purpose of attending school. Great School.

I loved going to hanahan!! They really care about thier students and the work is challenging.I was in band and had a blast!

This school is indeed an great school. The students and faculty are well educated and safety is not an issue. Several reviews have been made about football. This sport recieves more funding because it bring in a massive amount of the money. Wrestling draws little to no crowds which mean they bring in little to no money. I do agree that money was spent needlessly on the palm trees outside of the school when there were other issues, but if you understand the way the money CAN be spent you would know that the school cannot dip into the funds for the exterior appearance to work on other things!

this school needs to learn how to help their kids with what their kids need help with. and besides, the football team does get way more than any other athletic department. all of our coaches coach football and they are way biased to the footbal players. the footbal team gets new everything while our wrestling team is 300$ in debt. which is not fair to the students who wrestle and motivate all their time to it and cant even get to attend all the tournaments on the schedule.

I'm a 2003 graduate, and although I agree that most of the school's funding is spent on football instead of on other equally great extracurricular activities (our Academic Team and JROTC for example) the environment was pleasant; there was certainly learning to be had! HHS is by far one of the best schools in the area as far as academics goes (yes, football too). The teachers were some of the most helpful I've ever dealt with, and the school offered programs not found in others in the Charleston area (such as engineering and computer programming). I would love for more parents to get involved in coming years to ensure dollars are spent on students who are there to become more than athletes. Parents need to push for money to be spent on challenging those youngsters, AP classes, and getting kids into college. If people speak up, surely good things will come.

Hanahan is a good school. If the students take ignative in the activites that the schol offers than they should not be any problem. I am a 2001 graduate from Hanahan High school, and now I currently have a brother and two sisters who is now enroll at that school, and the are involve in activities that was there in the past and there are new activities there are in that was not there when I graduate. The academic program at Hanahan is great also. There are teachers there who is willing to work with the students on a one to one basic.SO its up to the students to talk to the teacher to receive extra help.

Hanahan Schools are an excellent place to send your children if you want them toget more attention from their teachers. The ratio of students to teachers is low and, thus, providing what I think is a better education than other schools in the Charleston area. Although there are not as many different classes that other larger schools may offer, the counselors and teachers do their best to help each student achieve what he is capable of achieving. Money for sports programs may not be allocated the way some parents would like, but those sports with more money have special booster clubs that are ran by involved parents. If you want your child to attend a school simply just for the extra-curricular activities, you may not want to send them to a bigger school; but, if you want your child to attend a school that is about the curriculum, Hanahan H.S..

This school not a good school. The money isn't spent where it should be. Why make the school look better on the outside when money is needed on the inside? Why buy palm trees when the sports teams and clubs need money? The only sport that gets all the money it needs is Football. Every other sport doesn't get much. The football team gets any and everything they want and the rest of the sports use wha they have. It's funny how the rules are enforced and who they're enforced on. Think twice before sending your child/children here.

This school is under construction for a 'new look'. They say it schould be done in 2005, which will be when I graduate. The classes are up to 25 to 30 kids in each. And have few good teachers. The ones that are good are great at what they do.
