Sedgefield Middle School Reviews

After having read all the reviews I must say a few VERY important issues were left out! First it is 100%true that there are uncontrollable students there, however the resource officer, principles, and office staff are no-nonsense and fair! My oldest son was there 6yrs ago, my 15yr old son is in his last year and my 12 yr old daughter is in her first year there, I acan tell you mine are not perfect but they do not run uncontrolled, which tells me 'look at the parents NOT the school' They are doning a decent job while working with some indecent families. AND getting better every year,

Hello, Ive been going to sedgefield middle school for 3 years. I love this school. I know that it is not the best school. Matter of a fact i wouldn't be suprised if you thought it was the worst. I like my teachers. I mean theres a few 'not so good' teachers. But a lot of them are nice, and respectful. The principal is okay, i mean i dont 'love' him. But What ever. The Extracurricular activities are okay. Since the school has been under construction they have had to decrease their activities. Like i used to be in drama club. But that was closed because there was no where to do it. There arnt any school conventions, or dances. But the dances will be starting up again in March. Parent involvement is okay, I mean theres a lot of PTO. But i dont know much about it. Overall quality - Pretty good.

This school is unacceptable! The children are treated with very little respect. I spend alot of time there. The bus system is a joke. Don't expect your kids to get home at the same time everyday. If your child plays any band instrument bigger than can fit on his/her lap, then they cannot ride the bus. The general population runs wild, and yes they need discipline. The adults in charge, however, deal with the problem by punishing all the kids in the general vicinity of the offending students with referals and silent lunches whether they are guilty or not. If I could afford private school, I would. Can you say homeschooling?

This is by far the worst school my child has ever attended. The children in this school are very out of control. They seeem to lack disapline, respect, and have no reguard for other childrens feelings. Yes the problems my child is having in this school may be an isolated problem, but im up at this school every day I speak to other parents I see the students behavior. Also, I see and hear the way the teachers deal with some of the kids it is horrible. Im working on getting my child out of that zoo asap. If I would of known in june when we moved here what I nonow I would never have put her there in that mess of a school. Do your research. Visit the school talk to parents, teachers etc.

This is by far the worst school that my children have ever attended. All of the good students are closely paid attention to, while the more needy students are pushed in the back so the schools image looks better. Teachers have a terrible time trying to control the students. There are way too many children per class room. The uncontrolled children are a distraction to those who want to learn. My children and many others are continually harassed by their obnoxious, uncontrolled peers. This schools rules and regulations are unnecessary and a bit out of line. I wouldn't recommend that any child be sent to this school.

This is a good school. I would like to see more of the dress code enforced and certain situations handle with more action, but over all this a good school. They encourage parent involvement and visitions to the school through out the day. It is good for the students at the school to see parents in their environment. Let's them know we are on their side and understand what it is like to be their age. The staff is very nice and helpful. This is an overall good school.
