“Low points - There doesn't seem to be much concern given to spelling, grammar, or punctuation in homework assignments. The children aren't required to write in cursive which I think they should be proficient at by this point. I spend a lot of time re-grading my daughter's assignments because I feel presentation is extremely important in the adult world..which is after all, what we are preparing our kids for. High points - I am very impressed with the study of stem words. These are Latin and Greek roots which are extremely helpful in allowing children to understand new words as their vocabulary expands. Another high point is that the school appears to be safe and behavior problems under control. My child is very happy there.”

“I find that this school quality in the educators are not exactly up to par with the rest of the schools from Berkeley. The teachers will not assume any kind of responsibility of what their pupils are lacking. They will blame will put the blame on someone else, either the guidance or teacher, the meaning of guidance is to guide these students to where and help if possible and/or contact the parents for any assistance. They do not do that and I find very frustrating!!”

“I love this school. My family moves every three years, because of the military and I am always nervous about my how my children will adjust to a new school and all I can say is that, they love it at Hanahan and so do I. My son has attended Hanahan Middle for two years and I have taught there for one. The Teachers are excellent and the administration is top notch! I feel that my son is in a safe environment and is challenged academically. If we did not have to move, my children would stay with the Hanahan schools until graduation. They are all fabulous school! The finest in Berkeley County!”
