Posted By: parent Quality Score: decline 2007-11-28 “Golden treasure in elementary schools. Since the closing of the US Naval Base in 1995, St Johns has had to 're-invent' itself. Although is in what is now one of the more depressed areas in North Charleston, the school itself does not experience the same discipline problems that other schools in better areas and with larger enrollments do. This owes largely to the principal's Pledge of Peace. The students recite it each morning - all together in the hall - and commit to resolving differences peacefully. Oh, she still has to get involved in some disputes here and there; but then they wouldn't be children if they weren't getting into some mischief. The Math program is the best I've seen in any school. This school is a no brainer if you're looking for a family atmosphere and personalized attention for both the students and the parents.” Posted By: parent Quality Score: 5 2007-06-28 “This is a very small school that specializes in individualized education for each student. Our son is way ahead of the average student his age and no other school in the Charleston area was willing or able to accommodate him. It is a very loving, family like environment.
